100 Days of My Youth (Day 44): Hey Fam, Spread Love!

On the 44th Day, I with so much pain pull my phone and open the google docs to start jotting down yet another piece.

A few days ago, I woke up to a mild pain that has turned out to be one of the most gruesome thing I’m going through right now after adulting. Jeez, my tooth hurts right straight to my legs and it’s making me go nuts, Yuck!

Well, I’m not at all here to go back and forth about my tooth and I’ve gotten a remedy for it now and it’s nolonger misbehaving. Atleast for now.

Let’s talk about love fam, let’s all talk about something that binds, a factor that makes all happy, an opportunity that allows us to start all over again, reunite, forgive and forget. Yes, Love!

I’ve found it in strangers, on social media, on the streets, at the bar, at the diner by the corner of the streets, in church, at work, by the men’s and so on and so forth. There’s many types of those that we won’t delve in today, and maybe not any other day.

Almost majority of us youths have fallen prey to heartbreaks, we’ve been served with a bitter sauce of this whole love thing. We’ve turned out to be haters, pessimists and sadists towards love. “It’s not our fault guys, we were hurt, cut us some slack!”

But then again, so what if you were hurt, so what if they left you for another man or woman. “That’s life mwattu”, things happen. Get used to it bruh, people move on, I once wrote!

Don’t start throwing around hate and anger because a small portion of your heart feels the need to. A friend once tweeted, “Don’t be that guy who spreads hate, lies and propaganda about people you were once madly in love with, that shit is lame”, those words sunk in. Don’t spread hate fam, spread love.

When you spread love, then we can all grow. Just don’t buy me alcohol in a bar and call that love, send me a job application, come to my rescue when I need you and don’t expect anything in return. That is love fam!

When you’re helped, you need to help someone as well. Spread the chain, spread the love and generosity, share with your folks that don’t have something fam. Don’t drag your friends because it makes you feel good about your ego, that’s wrong fam, spread love.

In his struggle, Nelson Mandela is quoted to have said; “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”

Hey Fam, we may have our indifferences, life might be treating us in far different ways, we may reach a point of baying for each others blood over trivial matters, we may have different political ideologies, we may have different views on Feminism, we may not feel cool about each other.

However, most importantly Fam, don’t spread hate, spread love and let’s resolve our misconceptions of eachother. Someday, we shall look back on these days and be grateful that we made the right choice!

You will achieve more in this world through acts of mercy than through acts of retribution. ~ Nelson Madiba Mandela
