100 Days of My Youth (Day 51): Just Do It

I’ve never really been a Nike guy and even with their kick-ass creations and innovations that they keep nailing, Adidas has always been my love. Those three stripes have always captivated my soul and their different makes have also wooed me. When all this is done, I mean the 100 days of my youth series, I’ll reward myself with a pair or two. I deserve it, right?

Now, have you seen Nike’s latest Just Do It” campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick? Have you read the news, seen the memes? Have you seen the surge in Nike’s sales after that goddamn thing went viral? My oh my. That was epic and still is. I feel like getting a pair of Nikes just to feel part of the wave but just like I am like an average youth out there, I may raise the money probably when the hype is over, tragic!

Everyone seems to be doing memes and jumping on the bandwagon of this whole campaign that has gone viral. It’s good for a little fun, good for business and great for the boost of a creative mind. “Just Do It” campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick is arguably the biggest campaign right now and not even Adidas, my favourite can come back from this epic one.

But wait, you don’t really think I came all the way here to talk about this viral campaign and the whole hype thrown around it?, Do you?. On the contrary, I just thought I could borrow the darned slogan “Just Do It” just to throw some adrenaline of positive vibes down your and my spine. We all could use that extra word of encouragement to move onwards and upwards.

For a while now, you and I have been held back from doing very many things we desire and cherish to do. Partly because we don’t have the slightest bit of motivation, any form of inspiration and any idea on when and where to start from.
Our dreams have been shuttered even before we attempt to start embarking on achieving them. The zeal within as to achieve whatever it is we would like and love to achieve has been on the low and we’ve also failed to realize that we are the masters of our destiny.

If you ever find yourself at these crossroads, if you have come to a place in life where you can neither move on or turn around and start all over again, if you look beside you and no one is there to give you a pat on the shoulder, then you’re on your own. Don’t despair, no don’t.
At this point in Life, you just have to do you. Whatever it is running through your mind, whatever it is that you’ve always wanted to do, whatever it is that they said you wouldn’t do, Just Do It!

There was a time about two years ago when I was faced with a tough decision to make that would later change my life. I was tasked to choose one hustle and whether I would focus on that one thing and maybe be that for the rest of my life. I got bored after, I was doing the same old thing for months and didn’t seem to grow, I felt stagnated and didn’t see myself there for the longest time possible.

Eventually, I made another choice to do just about everything I felt I loved and could do, one thing just didn’t make the cut for me and I decided to be a jack of all trades. You can be whatever you want to be, all you have to do is to do Just that
