Today two of my friends outrightly opened up to me and told me their woes. They opened up about their struggles and the tribulations they are going through.
For a moment, I sat there listening to my best friend telling me how his hustles are not working out, he told me about how terribly he’s frustrated and depressed about whatever is going on through his life.
I felt sad, I felt my eyes getting soaked at listening to what he had to tell me. What even made me deeply sad about this is the fact that I couldn’t help as I wasn’t in the best possible position to lend a hand. However, my being there just comforted him to being strong and not lose hope.
I’ve seen bad times and even worse and I sure know everything does eventually come to an end. It might last longer than long and it might have you thoroughly frustrated about this thing called life, but you need to hang in there.
Be there for your friends. Even if you really can’t help them from their problems. Even if you can’t really provide a lasting solution to the causes of their depression, sometimes all they want to do is talk and be listened to. That’s all.
Just be there, sit your ass warm and listen to whatever it is they have to say. All they need is a little word of encouragement and consolation that tomorrow, they’ll be alright. Be there!
