Judging from how most of us youths are outspoken on social media, it would be hard to agree that majority of us are actually introverts and shy. In Fact if you met any of them now in person, it’s likely that the person that will be before you is totally a different person & character from the one on Facebook or Twitter. It’s common, don’t be shocked!
Behind these accounts is a thick, dark & solid layer of a wall where we can hide and express ourselves. While there, we can share whatever it is on our mind, we can make sense & evoke emotions, cause uncontrollable laughter among people going about their business from anywhere in the world out of merely 280 characters.
We’re not really geniuses but it’s our generation, the millennial era of our time that the old folks. can’t really understand but are fascinated about.
While there, some have gone right ahead to create a living for themselves, some have gotten jobs from there, some have found love while others have been dumped from there.
Like anything that is free for all & somehow has no degree of regulation, a couple of groups have done what they feel like. Some have been outrightly called out for their actions and have been shamed while others have been applauded for their tremendous work they’ve done in their respective statutes.
It has made some and has broken some. Whatever you do on there can and will be used against you in a time to come. It may someday come back to haunt you.
The Internet never Forgets, remember!
With just a fine internet connection and access to any of these portals, we’ve gone all out, shared our views on a number of things. Shared nudes, gossiped, tweeted inspirational quotes, shared dope photos of ourselves on Instagram and more. We’ve made it known to whoever cares to that we’re living our best lives and we really feel boujee about ourselves. It’s cool, huh!
We roll by the flow, the hype, the bandwagon and the urge to be part of the cool camp. Even when we really don’t understand what’s going on, why it’s happening, if it’s cool before us, we definitely want to be part of it. We want to roll with it and share our experience even when it’s uncalled for.
Don’t act like you know us, advise us but don’t feel offended and bad when your advise is not considered or needed to. It’s our lives and we can choose to live it the way we deem fit. It’s just us and our nature. Amongst us, the majority to be sure will always listen and obey. The few will not, they won’t listen to what you have to say, they’ll choose to learn from their mistakes rather than being warned. They want to explore, to see for themselves and to risk it all. Don’t judge them or hate them, it’s their nature.
