100 Days of My Youth (Day 95): It’s not enough!
After the day’s hustle, I paid my friend Morris Atwine a visit. Morris is a renowned innovator and a uniquely bulk knowledgeable individual on matters startups in Uganda. He’s been my friend for about five years now and whenever we can, we share a little banter here and there and jokes!
We caught up for a short while after a very long time and had a healthy talk about our different hustles and spoke about the times ahead of us.
Often as he advised me on my journey, he mentioned something repeatedly about ‘nothing beating hard work if you’re to ever go far.
Like a needle, those words pierced right beneath my skin, settled and spread out there. Not that they’re new to me but they always need a re-echo and here I was getting it dressed in different clothes.
As I played around on twitter after I retired home, I fumbled on a bio reading; Motivation doesn’t last, nor does bathing and that’s why we recommend it daily.
In a subtle way, it comforted me and gave me a reason to quench my motivation thirst even more. Even when things are vividly not going on right, while many people around you continue to think that all is well, the very bit of motivation like a shower needs to freshen you and awaken your hopes.
It’s not just enough today, it’s not much to it in all and fully be satisfied. It’s a whole lot of steps, levels, bumps and more. Every point in the hustle has its own dose of motivation that you need to make you pick yourself up, clean up and continue going.
It’s not enough that we invest all that hard work, passion, dedication and patience in all our hustles without a dose of motivation to keep going. We need more of that drug, make it our heroine and maybe in extreme conditions overdose on it.
We need to be told that tomorrow will be better, a reassurance that our dreams will someday come through, a re-echo that we need to keep going hard and strong.
It’s not just enough but one day, it will all work out!
